Durian Ice Cream

Each time, Hub came home with durians, I always can’t wait to rid them. No, not through my tummy. I can’t eat too much of it and the strong smell of it makes me want to vomit. So, instead of using them for cakes, I decided to make ice-cream. I googled and found Anncoo’s recipe. Reading through the easy steps and ingredients, I decided to give a try.

Recipe (adapted from Anncoojournal

300g Durian flesh (I used Mao Shan Wang durian)
30g Brown sugar
20g Coffee mate  (I omitted)
1 tbsp Fresh milk (I used skimmed milk)

160g Fresh topping cream from PH 植物性奶油

Place durian flesh, brown sugar, coffee mate and fresh milk into the blender and blend them till very smooth. Add a little more milk if the durian mixture is still too thick. Whisk fresh topping cream to stiff peak. Fold fresh cream to durian mixture and mix well. Pour into container and freeze overnight until it’s firm.
Note: Hub and myself find the ice cream a bit sweet for us. Maybe sugar can reduce in next attempt.
