Homemade tamago boro egg biscuits

COOKIE1

Made these little cuties for the kids. Homemade tamago boro biscuits (旺仔小馒头), which are also baby Ian’s favourite.

The steps to make them are simple but they require lots of patience to shape them one by one. Mine are some big and some small ones.

3

1 egg yolk (17-20g)
Potato starch (120-140g),  sifted
castor sugar 35g  ( I used icing sugar)
baking milk powder 15g

Beat egg yolk and sugar till pale yellow.
Add milk powder and potato starch, in 2-3 additions.
Depending on the size of the egg yolk, you may need to add some milk/water to form a pliable dough.
Divde dough into portions and roll into the shape of a rope.
Cut into pieces – 1 cm per piece and roll into a ball.
Bake at pre heated oven at 170C for  12-15mins , or until it turns light golden brown.

** can replace egg yolk with around 20g of pumpkin puree, if the child can’t take the egg.

      1. Yes, I use baking milk powder. I using the same ingredients that you stated above. The dough will easily get cracked when I shape it. So I did added so water to roll the dough again.
Okay, I will try it again! Thanks 🙂
